A hydrophobic cavity provides an entryway for N-acylphosphatidylethanolamine into the active site, where a binuclear Zn2+ center is involved in hydrolysis. Bile acids bind with high affinity to selective pockets in this cavity, enhancing dimer assembly and enabling catalysis
