colB exhibits a relatively stable low level expression. In the host condition, the expression of colB is continuously increased from the exponential phase to the later stationary phase. During the midexponential and stationary phases, colB exhibits significantly higher transcription levels in the host than in the LB condition, increasing by 121.5fold and 458.9fold respectively. Together, the expression and transcription analyses confirms that high levels of colB expression are induced in Bacillus thuringiensis in the intestine of infected Caenorhabditis elegans
ColB expression is highly induced and regulated by the global activator PlcR
