3.5.1.94
4-(gamma-glutamylamino)butanoate + H2O
enzyme is involved in the gamma-glutamyl-gamma-aminobutyrate hydrolase pathway for the degradation of putrescine to succinate semialdehyde. PuuD is essential for growth on putrescine as a sole source of nitrogen. Expression of the enzyme is induced by putrescine and O2. Addition of succinate and NH4Cl to the medium reduces the expression of PuuD
