General Information

EC Number General Information Comment Organism
3.5.3.11 malfunction the role in the agmatinase-like protein (AGM-1) in the alternative pathway to produce polyamines is not its main function since only a slight reduction of polyamines concentration is detected in the DELTAagm-1 het strain. The null mutant DELTAagm-1 (homokaryon strain) is unable to grow and the deficiency of agm-1 in the heterokaryon strain provokes a decrease in elongation rate, conidia and biomass production, despite of having constitutive pathway via the ornithine decarboxylase. Mature hyphae of the DELTAagm-1 het strain presented unusual apical branching and a disorganized Spitzenkörper Neurospora crassa
3.5.3.11 metabolism the role in the agmatinase-like protein (AGM-1) in the alternative pathway to produce polyamines is not its main function since only a slight reduction of polyamines concentration is detected in the DELTAagm-1 het strain. In Neurospora crassa AGM-1 has a close association with the F-actin population via its substrate agmatine, playing an essential role during cell development Neurospora crassa
