Cloned(Commentary)

EC Number Cloned (Comment) Organism
2.5.1.47 to decrease the activity of OASTL, potato plants are transformed with the vector pBinAR harboring a cDNA encoding a sequence from either the StOASTL A or the StOASTL B gene in reverse orientation with respect to the cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter. THe transgenic approach is used to downregulate specifically the plastidial and cytosolic isoforms in Solanum tuberosum. This approach results in decreased RNA, protein, and enzymatic activity levels. H2S-releasing capacity is also reduced in these lines. The thiol levels in the transgenic lines are, regardless of the selected OASTL isoform, significantly elevated. Levels of metabolites such as serine, O-acetyl-L-Ser, methionine, threonine, isoleucine, and lysine also increase in the investigated transgenic lines Solanum tuberosum
