Deletion of the THI4 gene results in strains impaired in growth on thiamine-free medium that can be rescued by additional vitamin supply. Thi4 increases fungal stress tolerance such as UV-damage or oxidative stress. Thi4 is equired for fungal-induced tomato disease.
