5.1.3.37	extracellular	putative type I secretion system eexDEF is responsible for export of the AlgE-type mannuronan C-5-epimerases. In type I system disruption mutants, all AlgE epimerases are absent in culture supernatants. The wild-type strain produces alginate with about 20% guluronic acid, while the mutants produce almost pure mannuronan (<2% guluronic acid)
