General Information

General Information Comment Organism
metabolism the ADI pathway comprises three sequential reactions: in the first step, ADI converts L-arginine to L-citrulline, ammonia and CO2. Then, the product citrulline is cleaved by ornithine transcarbamilase into ornithine and carbamoyl-phosphate in the second step, after which the latter is used by carbamate kinase to convert ADP to ATP followed by the spontaneous decomposition of carbamate into ammonia and CO2. Weissella halotolerans strain W22 combines ADI and ornithine decarboxylation pathways and converts arginine to putrescine Weissella halotolerans
