Homo sapiens nuclear HDAC activity is significantly higher in rheumatoid arthritis than in osteoarthritis and normal controls. The mRNA expression of HDAC1 in rheumatoid arthritis synovial tissue is higher than in osteoarthritis and normal controls, and shows positive correlation with tumor necrosis factor-alpha mRNA expression.
