The assay format depends on the recognition of a C-terminal carboxylic acid residue of a peptide with the C-terminal sequence GGVV by the monoclonal antibody, G2-10. Removal of the masking C-terminal Arg by a basic carboxypeptidase exposes the recognition site for the antibody. High sensitivity, detection limits of 1-2 pM Homo sapiens
