Application

Application Comment Organism
synthesis enzymatic synthesis of polyol- and masked polyol-glycosides. The enzyme performs the synthesis of glycosides in a competitive high yield compared with that obtained with mesophilic enzymes. It permits the use of a wide variety of acceptors including tetritol compounds and their masked or protected derivatives. The synthesis of glucosides of 2,3-isopropylidene protected pure enantiomers of threitol shows the possibility of obtaining reasonable yields of products in the presence of a scarce amount of the acceptor by adding aliquots of donor at time intervals, in such a way that a molar excess of acceptor was maintained, thus avoiding undesirable formation of glycosides of the donor or enzymatic hydrolysis of the product Saccharolobus solfataricus
