physiological function Heminecrolysin induces erythrocyte hemolysis via lysophospholipase D activity. Heminecrolysin efficiently binds to erythrocyte's membrane and provokes phosphatidylserine translocation without cleavage of glycophorin A, suggesting that, unlike spider's phospholipase D, complement is activated only via the classical pathway.
