Role of PfTSN at asexual blood stages investigated by treatment of synchronized parasites at late ring stage with siRNA (analysed by manual counting and by morphological examination 40 h after treatment, additionally analyzed by real time PCR and immunofluoresence), 50 microg/ml concentration of siRNA: over 50% reduction in parasitemia observed, 100 microg/ml concentration of PfTSN siRNA: 60-70% reduction in parasitemia.
