General Information

General Information Comment Organism
physiological function two phosphofructokinase and two diphosphate-fructose-6-phosphate-phosphotransferase transcripts accumulate during anoxic stress, whereas mRNA levels of four phosphofructokinase and three diphosphate-fructose-6-phosphate-phosphotransferase genes are decreased. The total specific activity of both phosphofructokinase and diphosphate-fructose-6-phosphate-phosphotransferase changes only slightly during a 24-h anoxia treatment. Expression of different isoforms and their catalytic properties may differ during normoxic and anoxic conditions and contribute to balanced glycolytic activity during the low-oxygen stress Oryza sativa
