Inhibitors

Inhibitors Comment Organism Structure
papyriferic acid papyriferic acid is a triterpene that is secreted by glands on twigs of the juvenile ontogenetic phase of resin producing tree birches. Papyriferic acid is a potent inhibitor of SDH. Kinetic analysis indicate that, unlike malonate, papyriferic acid acts by an uncompetitive mechanism, by binding to the enzyme-substrate complex. The hydrolysis product of papyriferic acid, betulafolienetriol oxide, is inactive on SDH. Papyriferic acid acts as an intact molecule and interacts at a site other than the succinate binding site, possibly binding to the ubiquinone sites on complex II Bos taurus
