Application

Application Comment Organism
biotechnology the enzyme functions effectively as the biocathode of a H2/O2 biofuel cell. It is immmobilized as a multiple layer in a cationic polymer (poly-L-lysine) matrix on an electrode surface. The BOD-modified electrode catalyzes four-electron reduction of O2 to water without any mediator, to produce a diffusion-controlled voltammogram for the O2 reduction in a quiescent solution. Construction of such a multiple enzyme layer is useful for increasing the current density even in direct electron transfer-type bioelectrocatalysis Myrothecium sp.
