Expression

Organism Comment Expression
Oryza sativa the enzyme (OsGPX5) is upregulated in response to hormone treatment. The OsGPX5 transcript is strongly induced by gibberellin or salicylic acid following a 3-h treatment and reaches maximum levels at 12 and 6 h, respectively. For abscisic acid treatment, OsGPX5 is activated and peaked within 3 h, approximately fourfold of the original level, and then declines to a normal level after 6 h. When rice seedlings are exposed to indole-3-acetic acid or 6-benzylaminopurine, a weak induction of the OsGPX5 transcript is observed within 1-h treatment and its expression sustaines at this level for 12 h. OsGPX5 mRNA level is weakly upregulated in response to heat up

General Information

General Information Comment Organism
malfunction disruption of the enzyme (OsGPX5) via T-DNA insertion has adverse effects on the normal development of rice. The OsGPX5 mutant line exhibits lower germination potential, shorter length of 6-day-old seedlings, and a smaller number of filled grains compared to wild-type plants. The seedlings of OsGPX5 mutant plants exhibit enhanced sensitivity to salt stress Oryza sativa
physiological function beyond being an efficient ROS and peroxide scavenger, the enzyme (OsGPX5) participates in the interaction between ER stress and redox homeostasis, which is essential for the normal development of rice under stress conditions Oryza sativa
