This bacterial enzyme is a class IIB dioxygenase, comprising three components - a heterodimeric terminal dioxygenas, a ferredoxin protein, and a ferredoxin reductase. The enzyme acts on a range of aromatic compounds, including mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra-chlorinated benzenes and toluenes.
