Saccharomyces cerevisiae Dhh1, a DEAD box protein, is required for the degradation of SDH4 mRNA in iron-deficient conditions. Furthermore, Cth2, an RNA-binding protein responsible for binding to AU-rich elements (ARE), promotes the 5' to 3' degradation of SDH4 mRNA. The final results suggest that Cth2 protein recruits the Dhh1 helicase to promote SDH4 mRNA decay in response to iron-deficiency down
