Peptides with Leu and Phe at P2 position are superior substrates. High preference for peptides with Phe and Ser at position P1' position, followed by those with Gly and Leu, and to a lesser extent by Arg and Glu. The carboxydipeptidase activity of rCPB2.3DELTACTE, although more than one order of magnitude lower than its endopeptidase activity, may play a role in peptide or protein processing during the life cycle of Leishmania braziliensis
